Workshop : Toe-Up Socks

Choose from three toe-up sock patterns and learn the joy of sock knitting with our Sock Workshop! The ultimate portable project, learning how to knit socks opens up a whole new world of opportunities for trying out different stitches and techniques, but on a smaller scale than most projects. Getting the chance to wear your first pair of hand knit socks is so satisfying too! Laura is a true sock knitter (and you’ll frequently see her wearing hers), so she’s the perfect instructor to guide you through each step of the process.
The toe-up method of knitting socks is a great way to try your socks on as you go! You’ll learn how to do a special cast on technique for creating a perfectly seamless beginning. Two of the project options call for DK weight yarn, which we recommend for beginners. The thicker yarn will make tackling your first pair of socks easier and faster!
Skill Level : Experienced Beginner (should know how to knit and purl and have some pattern reading experience)

• 100-245 yds dk weight yarn (depending on what size you make)
• 37-93 yds dk weight yarn in a contrasting color (for optional contrast toe/heel)
