Chunky Andean Wool is a versatile and soft, single spun yarn with a good structure that keeps a beautiful stitch definition, even when worked with larger needles. The yarn is suited for both garments and interior projects and can be knit in the round without twisting.
KAOS YARN Chunky Andean Wool is a spun single ply yarn made of 100% Peruvian Highland Wool from a natural crossbreed between Merinos and Corriedale sheep grazing in the Andes 2500-5000m above sea level. The yarn is spun in Peru at a family owned and Fair Trade certified mill, ensuring good conditions for animals, people and the environment. While Chunky Andean Wool is wonderful worked alone, holding it alongside Kaos Yarn Organic Brushed Alpaca adds depth to the colors and a lovely halo of fluff to your project (see the color grid shown in photos for a visual of how the two yarns look side by side).
You can also hold two strands of Chunky Andean Wool together to create a beautiful fabric for projects requiring a US 13 (9.00mm) to US 15 (10.00mm) needle range!
