April at Stars Hollow Yarns: Cozy Projects, Community Spirit & Gilmore Girls Fun

Spring has arrived, and with it comes a full month of yarn-filled joy, meaningful connection, and small-town charm. At Stars Hollow Yarns, April is all about community—whether you're giving back, trying something new, or joining in on the Gilmore Girls fun happening right here in New Milford.

We have a wonderful lineup of events to knit your heart into this season. Here's what's coming up:

April 5 – Knit for Food (In-Store Knit-a-Thon)

Join us for a nationwide Knit-a-Thon in support of food insecurity awareness. We’ll be hosting our own cozy gathering at the shop to raise awareness and support this important cause. Bring your needles, your favorite project, and your giving spirit. Let’s come together and make a tangible impact—one stitch at a time.

April 6 – Good Deeds Day

Celebrate acts of kindness big and small with us. Whether you knit a hat for someone in need, lend a hand to a fellow crafter, or simply share some warmth with your community, this is the perfect day to put your heart into action. We'll have some thoughtful ideas available in-store if you'd like to participate.

April 11 – Gilmore Girls Fan Fest in New Milford

The beloved Gilmore Girls Fan Fest is coming to town—and while many of the official events are sold out (including karaoke and the Festival of Living Art), Friday-only tickets are still available.

Stars Hollow Yarns will be participating in the Knit-a-Thon at the event. More details to come, but we're excited to be part of this magical, fandom-filled weekend.

Plus, show your event lanyard or wristband in-store on festival weekend to receive a $20 gift card with any $100+ purchase. Whether you're visiting from out of town or a local celebrating all things Stars Hollow, we'd love to welcome you in.

This is one of our favorite annual events, and we’re going all out this year. Join us for exclusive yarns, surprise specials, in-store celebrations, and the kind of warm, creative atmosphere that defines everything we love about being your local yarn shop. It’s the perfect day to support small, shop slow, and soak up all the cozy vibes.
